The term used to describe the supernatural abilities of the characters in Vampire: the Eternal Struggle. These powers were believed to have originated from Caine, the father of all vampires. Some of these abilities were created by the Antediluvians and bequeathed through their childer.

The disciplines associated to the vampire are symbolized at the bottom of the Crypt card which in turn indcates the Library cards the vampire can use. The discipline symbols are within a square or diamond shapes. A square-shaped discipline indicate a basic level of the discipline while a diamond-shaped indicate a superior form. The vampire with the superior ability may choose to use the basic effect or the superior one (text in bold).
